Every year our software changes. In fact, we have had multiple upgrades with our SIS (student information system) within
New Note 7.16.2010 - While my intent was good, I have a lot of work to fill in the blanks/missing data

To begin the year
printed to pdf Course List as of...

It's "eoya" time in schools...end of the year accountability. Every year KSDE and SIS's - PowerSchool for us, don't jive and it's somewhat of a research/troubleshooting process get make it all happen. This year I am having to do these things to the data:
  • Use Student Field Value to fill KS_Tle_I_SES_Pro with 21 zeros
  • Search DDA--oops, can't search dda for KS Reporting Fields so search for KS_Prim_Except# and fill KS_Qal_504 with a 1 (sped secretary gone this year) Then go back and find KS_Prim_Except=gi and change the field value back to 0 on these students.

Working with Jr. High - this year with some major re-thinking going on about Course work around Math/LA class groupings, new KS course code work in progress, and adding an entire new grade level to the middle school building for the 2010-2011 school building.

With Pre-enrollment done, all 7-8 graders were pre-enrolled into either Math7, Pre-Alg8, or Algebra. Now to hard-wire students into math groups, new courses were created and students were mass enrolled

Since this is the first time the Jr. High has done a combination "build/load" and not just "copy" a master schedule,. we ran into some things not experienced before. One biggie was the TA (homeroom) issue of adding back in a period to the front of the schedule. It's tedious work.

Linda's work:
Teachers:
(live side) Non-returning teachers set to "No Longer Here" - (Staff/Teacher/Edit Info) & Schedule This Teacher unchecked - Staff/Teacher/Schedule
(live side) Create new staff members & check "Schedule This Teacher"
(live side) If doing a Build/Load - /double-check all teachers scheduling preferences are filled in and correct

Courses:
(schedule side) Double-checked and corrected any errors found in Courses table export looking at "credit hours-grade scales-maxclasssize-etc"
(schedule side) Un-check unused Courses for next year-making sure to keep generic pre-enrollment

The Process:
  • Teachers - new created/retired/resigned "No Longer Here"/Sched_Scheduled=True
  • Create Scenario
(ghs based on full year and then split sections prior to committing schedule) (jr. high processes all four quarters - plus full year's that split prior to committing)
  • Years & Terms - correct the dates for the new year
  • Catalogs / Edit Course Catalog - turn off all courses that will not be scheduled - add new courses/edit course names in the live side and make sure they show up on scheduler side
